ON Feb 11, the world witnessed yet another monumental milestone. There are lessons to be learned - both for the meek and oppressed as well as their haughty oppressors and arrogantly blind leaders.

Lesson one: the world has changed. The Egyptians' social media revolution is only the markings of a new beginning, not the end. Leaders around the world are waking up to a reality never imagined before.
Lesson two: Genghis Khan and the emperors of China invested in brute force by increasing their military headcount. They failed eventually in the face of brutalised human souls who rose against them.

The experience of the West or the East is the same. When the yoke on the subjects snaps, all hell breaks loose. In today's world, military or police pressure and barricading will not be able to counter the fathomless power of the Internet.

Lesson three: the peasants of the past eras are today's new- generation youth who want to see the birth of a new renaissance. They dream of creating a true democracy that respects individuality.

They hope of giving back to humanity what has rightfully belonged to society. And their weapon is the World Wide Web, the invisible laser that is purely driven by human will. And history tells us that no single human being has succeeded in smashing this God-given gift to all mankind called "will".

Lesson four: when leaders begin to be preoccupied with threatening their citizenry with warnings to squash any idea of rising against regimes, oppression or hardship, it clearly signals that the new-age battle against corruption, deceit and absolute control is gaining ground via the information technology revolution. At the least expected moment in time, the Internet revolution will swing its pendulum of destruction upon those that manipulate human will for self interest.

Lesson Five: when the citizens succeed in rescuing their nations from the claws of oppressive regimes, the media and law enforcers controlled by the tyrants will swing to the side of the euphoric citizens.
