NSW:Gillard condemns Nigeria attack

Federal deputy opposition leader JULIE BISHOP has joined the prime minister in condemning
the attack on a United Nations building in Nigeria.

The blast in Abuja killed at least 18 people, blowing out much of the building and
marking a sharp escalation in a wave of attacks.

Ms BISHOP has described the attack as brutal and cowardly, calling it an attack on
the future of Nigeria as much as it is an attack on the United Nations.

She says it's more evidence that the struggle against terrorism must remain a high
priority for nations around the world.

Earlier Prime Minister Julia Gillard called it an attack on us all and offered Australia's
condolences to the victims and the UN.
